The Railway Cafe Weekly Walks
Everyone welcome, wear sensible shoes and bring a waterproof. It is advisable to bring a bottle of water. We start at 10.00am prompt, so arrive a little earlier. I will try to vary the routes every month, so check out the walk poster in the cafe or on this website to choose the walks that suit you. All walkers take part at their own risk.
4 June 5.25 miles
Along the railway to Langley Road, across fields to Mop's farm passing the fishing pools to meet the canal at Dimmingsdale. We follow the canal back to Bratch and
Thursday 11 June 6.5 miles
Along the railway and country lane to Trysull. Along Church Lane to Seisdon and up to Tinkers castle ridge and back to the café via Woodford lane. Stiles to climb.
Thursday 12 May 3.5 miles
Across fields at the back of the cafe to Orton Lane and up through Ladywell Woods to the top of Orton Ridge. Hopefully will see bluebells. Down Showell lane and and back to the café.
Thursday 18 June 4.5 miles
Along Bratch Lane and through a gate to climb up to the mast. Following the ridge to Showell Lane, crossing Orton Lane to take a lane to Awbridge and back along the canal to the café. Can be shortened by a mile.
Thursday 23 June 3 miles
Orton walk. Along the railway to Flash Lane and Showell Lane. Across fields and back to walk up Showell Lane. This is quite steep. Then along Bearnett Lane and down through the woods to Orton Lane. This is a steep descent. Across fields and back to the café.
